In June of 2020, last year, Taiwan Fact Check Center won a global checking award for debunking a video that falsely claimed vote rigging in the elections in Taiwan. The debunking process only took 15 minutes, but Summer Chen Hui-min, Editor in chief of Taiwan Fact Check Center said that is not the normal case, it normally takes half a day or one to three days to debunk misinformation, and sometimes it even takes up two to three weeks. Some misinformation has been described as a zombie rumor as you can't kill it and it keeps coming back, Summer Chen said when this happens, they make good use of the LINE chatbot to answer questions raised by the public. LINE is Taiwan’s most popular messaging app and Taiwan is the first country to work with LINE.
