The 2014 Tainan Arts Festival is set to kick off on April 5 in the southern city of Tainan. The lineup will feature diverse performances by arts groups from Taiwan and abroad.
The festival will include music, drama and dance performances by 59 groups from 11 countries. International performers will include Japanese musical director Joe Hisaishi with the Vienna State Opera Chorus, Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc from France, Mark Morris Dance Group from the United States, and British a cappella group The King's Singers.
The Taipei Philharmonic Theater will also present its epic musical "Zeelandia-Return to Formosa" on May 24-25, telling the sory of a Dutch officer who travels to Taiwan in the 17th century in search of his father.
