Adjunct Professor at Emory University, Dr. Michael D. Malison, has praised Taiwan’s work to prepare for a possible outbreak of the Ebola virus.
Malison was speaking at a media event sponsored by the Cabinet on Tuesday afternoon. He said he has seen Taiwan’s work to prepare for the virus firsthand and expressed approval for the precautionary measures Taiwan has taken.
He said the key to controlling the Ebola epidemic will be to bring the disease under control at its source to prevent its further spread. He also said that international cooperation to fight the disease will be important. He said he believes the US will be happy to provide Taiwanese authorities with advice and technical assistance should the need arise.
