Kinmen prepares for holiday spike in air traffic

The Lunar New Year is one of Taiwan’s busiest travel seasons. Demand for transportation of all kinds surges as people return home or go on trips over the long New Year vacation.

This includes demand for air travel to Taiwan’s outlying islands. Extra flights are usually scheduled during the holiday to meet this demand. In the final run-up to this year’s New Year vacation, the island county of Kinmen is working with the Civil Aeronautics Administration to plan a holiday flight schedule. Wednesday saw the beginning of a six-day investigation to assess how many seats will be needed over this year’s nine-day vacation.
