Taiwan has won four gold medals, three silvers, and eight bronzes at the 2019 World Police and Fire Games. The event is under way in Chengdu City in China through August 18. So far, the games have consisted of swimming, judo, arm-wrestling, running, and a half-marathon. In these categories, Taiwan has taken a total of 15 medals.
According to the National Police Bureau, Taiwan shined in Women’s judo, winning a total of three gold medals. One of which went to defending champion Lu Ching-ying from New Taipei City.
Firefighter and first time competitor, Lien Ying-jie, defeated a Mongolian contestant to take home a gold medal in the Men’s judo category.
