A group of experts has shared Taiwan’s response to COVID-19 in a live video talk with an audience at an Indonesian university. The Taiwanese experts took part in the conference with Surabaya’s Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology on Wednesday.

Topics included the use of technology and big data in implementing disease prevention policies, the use of contact tracing, disease prevention at airport border control, and policies concerning surgical masks. There was also discussion about remote treatment of patients, caring for patients without coming into direct contact with them, and the management of medical waste.

Taiwanese panelists highlighted the steps Taiwan has taken to spread information about preventing disease to its immigrant communities.

According to Taiwan’s representative office in Surabaya, representatives of the East Java Provincial Government and the Surabaya Municipal Government were among those in attendance on the Indonesian end.
