Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on Tuesday announced one new imported case of COVID-19. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in Taiwan to 486.
The latest case is a man in his 60s who had been working in the Philippines. The CECC has identified 17 passengers who have been in close contact with the man on the plane to Taiwan. They are now under home isolation. Another 11 crew members have been asked to monitor their health as they were donning proper protection throughout the flight.
Of the 486 cases in Taiwan, 394 were imported, 55 were local, and 36 came from a cluster infection on a navy ship, with one case still under investigation.
