Taiwan’s foreign ministry says it will make an announcement about a US State Department official’s planned visit to Taiwan once it’s final. That was the word from Foreign Ministry official Douglas Hsu on Tuesday.
Hsu was referring to a planned trip by Keith Krach, the Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment.
There has been speculation that Krach is set to visit Taiwan later this week to hold an Economic and Commercial Dialogue between Taipei and Washington, the first dialogue of its kind.
Hsu said both sides are still working hard to make arrangements for the trip.
