Taiwan welcomes Biden pick for White House security council

The foreign ministry says that Kurt Campbell's appointment to the Biden White House's National Security Council will be good for US-Taiwan ties.

The foreign ministry is welcoming US President-elect Joe Biden’s pick of Kurt Campbell as Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs in his White House National Security Council.

On Thursday, the foreign ministry’s head of North American affairs, Douglas Yu-Tien Hsu, said that Campbell is “extremely friendly to Taiwan”. Hsu said that Campbell’s appointment will be good for US-Taiwan ties and developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
