The Taiwanese government is investigating allegations of leaks and conflicts of interest related to the Indigenous Defense Submarine (IDS) program. KMT Legislator Ma Wen-chun (馬文君) has been charged with leaking confidential information and will be handled by three procuratorial offices in four separate cases.

IDS program convener Admiral Huang Shu-kuang (黃曙光) recently reported to the media that there have been obstructions of the submarine's construction plan and sharing of said plans to foreign countries.

Ma issued a statement on Facebook on Thursday that she indirectly obtained leaked data in January of last year, including drawings and plans that are difficult to distinguish between actual and falsified information. She also received voice recordings between retired navy captain Kuo Hsi (郭璽), a consultant for the submarine program, and two foreign contractors.

Ma has handed over the information to the Defense Ministry stating that there was no data leakage. Investigators are searching for more evidence, analyzing the authenticity of the data, and will report it to the Taiwan Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office.
