Eswatini Foreign Minister Pholile Shakantu and her delegation have successfully completed their visit to Taiwan on Sunday. Shakantu met with President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and Vice President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) during this time.
According to a Foreign Ministry press release on Monday, Shakantu signed a joint declaration with Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮). The document highlights and reaffirms the rock-solid Taiwan-Eswatini relationship and promises to strengthen future cooperation between the two countries.
Shakantu has reiterated Eswatini’s steadfast support for Taiwan during her time in Taiwan. She also expresses her gratitude to the Taiwan government for the bilateral collaboration on various cooperation projects, which substantially assists the social and economic development of Eswatini.
Foreign Ministry Department of West Asian and African Affairs Director-General Anthony Ho (賀忠義) said that Taiwan will continue to deepen its relationship with Eswatini, promoting the exchange in multiple fields based on past solid foundations. He says that this strengthening of cooperation will improve the welfare of people on both sides.
