Chinese allegations of Taiwanese cyberattacks deliberately misleading: Premier

The Information, Communications and Electronic Force Command (ICEFCOM) issued a statement Monday refuting China’s claims that four of their personnel have carried out cyberattacks against China. Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) said Tuesday morning that the CCP fabricated these allegations in order to justify their own continued cyberattacks against Taiwan.

China's Ministry of State Security (MSS) created a post on WeChat accusing ICEFCOM of overseeing cyberattacks on Chinese social networking sites promoting Taiwan independence. They alleged four members of ICEFCOM were overseeing the cyberattacks via online platforms, posting their photos and personal information.

In their statement, ICEFCOM denied the accusations and emphasized that their mission is to protect Taiwan from cybersecurity threats. Cho also refuted the CCP’s claims, saying China is intentionally creating misinformation to sow chaos and make excuses for their own hostility and repeated attempts to breach Taiwan’s cybersecurity.
