The Council of Agriculture is set to hold a public forum on the management of stray dogs. There has been little agreement over whether Taiwan ought to pursue a policy of catching, neutering, and releasing stray dogs.

The Council of Agriculture began recruiting members of the public to participate in the forum Wednesday. Participants are being recruited through random phone interviews. The recruiting process will continue through June 15th, after which organizers will select 20 respondents to participate in the forum.

The Council of Agriculture says that participants in the forum will be expected to read expert opinions on the subject of stray dog management before the forum begins in late July. The Council of Agriculture says that the results of the discussion, expected to come out in mid-August, will inform future stray dog policy.
