The Diplomacy Training Program from Australia wins the 2019 Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award. The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) established the annual Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award to honor individuals or organizations that have long dedicated to the promotion of democracy in Asia. Patrick Earle, the Executive Director of the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) came to Taiwan in December 2019 to receive the award. The Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) is an independent, non-government organization (NGO) providing education in human rights advocacy based in Sydney, Australia. Since 1990, it has trained more than 3,000 human rights defenders from more than 60 countries.
