On today's episode of Taiwan Grooves part I, I will interview a Taiwanese born and raised R&B musician, FunkyMo, who makes music in Taigi and English.

FunkyMo was exposed to American Hip-Hop, Funk, R&B, and other broader musical styles. At the same time, he exchanged rock music albums with classmates from the rock music club who sat behind him. He thought he would dance forever, but later discovered that making music was easier on the knees.

In FunkyMo's music, the ability to move your body to the rhythm is the most important thing - the listening experience moves from the outside into the body, ultimately touching people's souls. Although he majored in electronic music production and has unique insights into sound design and synthesizers, his soul seems to have never left the early American grassroots energy of Funk/Soul/R&B styles.

After completing a degree at Berklee College of Music in the U.S., he returned to Taiwan with an electronic music album. He began working as a producer and live performance keyboard player/programmer for many artists from different genres.
