Taiwan and Palau signed an agreement to cooperate in sea patrols in March and Amb.Dilmei Olkeriil, the Ambassador of Palau said the sea patrol cooperation has a significant meaning as Palau has limited resources and a vast area of ocean. The marine sanctuary in Palau covering an area of 500,000 square km is the world’s sixth largest fully protected area and Amb.Dilmei Olkeriil said now divers can see not only golden jellyfish but also sharks. The world's first shark sanctuary was established in 2009 in Palau.
