Local shares rebound on Wall Street gains

Shares in Taiwan staged a rebound Thursday as investors, encouraged by gains on Wall Street overnight, bought into the local electronics sector.

The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed up 50.27 points, or 0.56 percent, at 8,878.63.
