Taipei has been named one of the “unexpected and affordable” destinations that travelers want to visit in 2015. That’s according to the US-based online business news service Main Street.
Cited by Main Street, full-time traveler and blogger Dave Dean said that his pick of the unexpected 2015 travel destination was Taiwan. Dean mentioned the beautiful beaches in Taiwan and its friendly people. He also said he had no clue why so few Western travelers have paid attention to Taiwan.
In addition to Taipei, the six other unexpected destinations were Leipzig in Germany, Lisbon in Portugal, Tokyo in Japan, Medellin in Colombia, Croatia, and Canada’s Newfoundland.
According to Main Street, the destinations were chosen partly because they are affordable.
