Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-Khim (蕭美琴) appeared via pre-recorded video at the Hill & Valley Forum on AI Security to advocate for Taiwan’s inclusion in the U.S. defense supply chain.

Hsiao underscored Taiwan as a reliable partner and stressed that collaboration between Taiwan and the U.S. would inevitably forge a more resilient defense and enhance deterrence capabilities.

Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) has also stated that it would be mutually beneficial for the Taiwan and U.S. industries to be integrated.

The Hill & Valley Forum, comprised of startup enterprises and bipartisan congressional members, stands as one of the most influential lobbying forces of the U.S. technology industry in Washington. It has also been involved in the drafting and lobbying processes surrounding legislation related to ByteDance's divestment from the video platform TikTok.

Hsiao's seven-minute prerecorded speech advocating for Taiwan's inclusion in the U.S. defense supply chain is part of an endeavor to expand upon international discourse on Taiwan amidst efforts to counter China's encroachment.
